Choco Matcha Cupcakes
Chocolate + Matcha (Green Tea) = DELICIOSO! Made this cupcake as an experiment.. but turned out, it was NICE.. it's 2 layers cupcake, the bottom is dark chocolate and top layer is matcha. The recipe was a modification from Steamed Brownies (Brownies Kukus) ala Bunda Inong with additional of matcha powder. The recipe is below
Taste not sweet, with smell of the matcha, it would be a perfect company for tea break :)
CHOCO MATCHA STEAMED BROWNIES
modified from Brownies Kukus ala (late) Bunda Inong
Ingredients
200 gram all purpose flour
400 gram sugar ( I only used 300gr)
8 nos eggs
300 gr vegetable oil
60 gr choco powder (shift
1/2 tsp vanili
1 tbs baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp matcha powder (shift)
Method
- in one bowl shift flour, salt and baking powder, put aside
- Use Hand-miexer, mix well eggs and sugar till combined..
- Add in dry ingredient (flour, salt and baking powder) into the wet ingredients and mix well
- Pour the vegetable oil.. and mix till the batter become thick (or you may make the ribbon mark using the batter)
- Add in the vanili
- Split the batter evenly into 2 bowl. Add the choco powder into 1 bowl and matcha powder into 2nd bowl
- Pour the 1st batter (choco batter) into the 1/3 of the cupcake liner - steam it for about 10 mins
- Ensure cover the lid of the steamer with clothes (i usually use aluminium foil) so that the water steam would not drop into the cupcakes
- After 10 mins, add in the 2nd batter (matcha batter) and steam it for about 15-28 mins or until the stick inserted comes out clean.
